This Pride & Prejudice–inspired couples session (love story) was photographed at Wolf Lake Park in Davie, Florida, a location that felt especially fitting for the kind of story they wanted their photos to tell. With its open greenery field, beautiful foliage, and the sun peaking through the trees this gave us the space to create something truly romantic.

From the beginning, this session was approached with intention. Rather than focusing on perfectly posed images alone, the goal was to piece together a story that felt true to them. This was built through interaction, subtle direction, and moments unfolding naturally as we moved through the park.

Creating a Session That Reflected Their Story

From the beginning, this session was approached with intention. Rather than focusing on stiff posing, I guided them through a mix of prompts that encouraged movement, interaction, and comfort.

For this couple, incorporating props played an important role. Writing and exchanging love letters gave them something meaningful to hold and interact with, which immediately helped them relax and feel more confident. Having something to do with their hands allowed their focus to stay on each other instead of the camera.

How Thoughtful Direction Shaped Their Session

Throughout the session, I paid close attention to how they moved together, and how the light shifted. I guided them when needed, offering direction with posing, spacing, and light—while still allowing room for genuine moments to happen naturally.

Some moments were softly posed, others were guided through prompts, and many unfolded organically in between. This balance allowed the session to feel intentional without feeling forced.

For them, this approach created a comfortable, fun experience, one where they could trust the process and enjoy being present together.
